Opals were believed to be pieces of heaven knocked down by violent thunderstorms.  The ancient myths are that opals bring wisdom and good fortune.  The superstition that opals are bad luck is not true!  Whether you believe that or not, these crystallized rainbows are a wonderful addition to the pleasure in your life!
Ammolite is a 70 million year old fossil seashell with colors reminiscent of opal.  They are not very hard, so they are often used as "triplets" meaning that the ammonite is a thin layer sandwiched between an opaque backing and a quartz cover.    Ammolite Information
