Garnets were believed to be related to blood and were used by some oriental tribes as bullets so they would be more likely to wound enemies. They were also ground up and used as medicine.

Garnets were believed to give their wearers night vision, protect them from nightmares, and to be a protection from poisoning.

Garnets come in several very beautiful colors including bright green, yellow, pink and purple.

Tsavorite Garnets are stronger than emeralds and a brighter green. Rhodolite Garnets are a lovely pink/purple.
