Diamonds & Gems Class 

This class is about the world of Diamonds and Gems, how they are found, mined, and cut, how they are valued, the myths and lore surrounding them, as well as some of the gemology involved in identifying them.

Important subjects covered will include preventing stone switching, getting a good appraisal, and choosing a good jeweler.

Gemprinting (taking a laser fingerprint of your diamond) will be covered as well.

Since students are not expected to invest in gemological equipment, the class only gets into "soft" gemology, using a loupe and an educated eye.

The class takes place on the same night of the week for three weeks running, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Cost is $30 and registration takes place the night of the first class.
